Could be a wet one tomorrow night. District season gets rolling as we have a couple of big matchups for this week with significant playoff implications. Here we go:

Knoxville at Carlisle -- Great matchup. We may see about 5 passes in this game. Both will want to run the ball down the other teams throat and control the line of scrimmage. K'ville has been a very good second half team the last two weeks as they tend to wear down the opposing defense. They have probably been the surprise team of D7. But, K'ville couldn't stop Carlisle last year. K'ville will move the ball, but can they stop Carlisle. Carlisle 31 Knoxville 24

Mount Pleasant at Chariton ( (ND)) -- I would think this would be a very close game. Mount Pleasant scored a ton last year in this game. Chariton was none to impressive last week with a 14 point win over Saydel. But, I'm going to go with the home team in a high scoring affair as they have the best receiver in the state. Throw the ball to T.J., boys and let him score many TD's... Chariton 42 Mount Pleasant 35

Pella at Norwalk -- Another excellent matchup that may certainly decide the district champ, in the long run. Norwalk has an excellent QB who easily leads the team in rushing as well. He has 6 throwing TD's, but has 5 int's as well. Pella, is....well, Pella. They strike hard and fast and already having several picks on D this year. Clayberg is 100% healthy and is throwing the ball so well this year. He continues to have highlight reel runs regularly. Norwalk will move the ball and score, but I'm not sure how well they can stop Pella. Pella 31 Norwalk 14

Saydel at Oskaloosa -- I didn't think Saydel would hang with Chariton last week, but they did. Osky has had a heck of a time getting the ball in the endzone this year. Osky can move the ball and they will get better as they are very young. Saydel is more competitive this year then last year and they are young as well. I'll go with the home team, but I think this will be a good ball game. Osky 27 Saydel 14

Predicting playoff teams:

1. Pella
2. Norwalk
3. Carlisle
4. Knoxville

Chariton very well could be 5-0 after next week, but close the sched with @ Norwalk, Knoxville, @ Carlisle, and @ Pella. I don't see any wins in there, except possibly Knoxville if they can man up on run defense.
