D7 Week 2 picks

Great week of football in week #1. Here we go again:

Bondurant-Farrar 21 at Carlisle 28 (ND): [/I]Should be a very interesting game. BF had a nice win in week 1 and look to be pretty strong. Carlisle had a tough loss to DCG. Carlisle is salty and I expect them to bounce back strong and pick up first win of the year.

Centerville 14 at Knoxville 20 (ND): [/I]Here we go Panthers, this is a great chance to stop the long losing streak. Centerville got beat handily by Chariton last week. K'ville didn't play that bad against Newton, but gave up the big plays. I think K'ville gets this one.

Dallas Center-Grimes 10 at Pella 24 (ND): [/I]Pella had impressive win against Washington last week. Pella's offense if fast and explosive. Will be tough for teams to stop, but DCG will have one of the best defenses that Pella will see. I'll take Pella at home.

Davis County, Bloomfield 7 at Chariton 35 (ND):[/I] Expect Chariton to roll over Davis County. Chariton has a nice sched to start the year off strong.

Ottumwa 28 at Oskaloosa 14 (ND): [/I]Thought Osky would do better last week against Winterset. They will have a tough time with Ottumwa.

Saydel 14 at Nevada 34(ND): [/I]Glad Saydel won last week....

Winterset 13 at Norwalk 28 (ND): [/I]Good win by the Huskies over Osky last week. Norwalk didn't fare as well. I think Norwalk will bounce back strong this week.

B-F v Carlisle: My sources told me they felt like Carlisle played well enough to win game 1 but a "W" snuck away from them. B-F kicked N-Polk's butt, a traditionally pretty good team. However, good teams don't give up 350 yards rushing to one player, much less a whole team. Carlisle will be better, and will win a close one this time, 24-21.

Centerville v Knoxville: Knoxville breaks losing streak 21-7.

DCG v Pella: Both defenses were tested by good teams last week, and both will likely be improved. Pella's speed on offense make the difference in this one, Pella wins.

Davis County v Chariton: Chariton wins by 3 TD over a mid-level 2A team.

Ottumwa v Oskaloosa: I would like to say Osky is ready to take on the Bulldogs, but Ottumwa will most likely roll in this one, 35-7.

Saydel v Nevada: Nevada runs away with this one, literally. Chase Dobson rushes for 300 yds.


Winterset v Norwalk: Winterset found a way to win last week, but plays tough. Norwalk starts slow, but wins late, 24-20.

Very important game tonight for Carlisle against BF. This game could tell us where they really are at. A loss and they could find themselves 2-4 or 1-5 before the schedule softens for them in the last 3 games.

This one might come down to location. Carlisle may win this one at home tonight if they can keep themselves from getting ground down by BFs potent running game.
