Hats off to 4-1 Prairie which won at home in a thriller. Their only loss is a close one to Weiskamp and Muscatine. Pemsl can't carry Wahlert alone; some of their other kids (forwards) have to step up.

Prairie is a legit squad this year. Drahos-Smith is a tough 2 guard. Rima is the best all around athlete in the state. Iowa missed out not offering him a football scholarship. Mason Hook might be a top 10-20 sophomore in the state. Cal Clark is a gritty PG. There is a reason The CR Gazette picked them to win their division in the MVC.

Prairie has had some great teams over the years, and I've always liked their program. I hope they continue to do well over the course of the season. The Prairie Hawks caught Linn-Mar on a night when Bohannon seemingly couldn't miss a shot, and I hope Prairie's coach sends Christmas cards to Wahlert's players for missing 16 three pointers. I think the MVC will continue to provide lots of ongoing drama for its fans during the course of the year, and I hope Prairie has great success.
