Could they maybe consider changing this location?

I know logistically it is hard but doesn't make a ton of sense:

Game: Dubuque, Hempstead vs. Dubuque, Senior @ Davenport North

Or at Wahlert, even if their gym isn't that big. It is crazy to send two Dubuque teams so far away when they can stay close to home and have an even bigger attendance gate.

You must remember that it is the Boys in Boone who did this scheduling. Most of the time it is very difficult for them to think outside the box.

In 1a Danville and Notre Dame both had to drive 60 miles to Lone tree to play a district game even though they were 8 miles apart

Glad they changed it but couldn't they play at one of the three colleges in Dubuque?

You are assuming that the colleges are just WILLING to give up their facilities for the evening. Not always the case.

or think at all one of them must live in Dubuque and is getting paid mileage
don't put those kind of things past those clowns

I know as it relates to the Danville/Notre Dame game, Burlington HS didn't offer/ seek the use of their gym for any post season games.

This exactly. I am not saying Boone is some well oiled machine, but people need to stop acting like all facilities are just available in case needed for Sub-State. Sometimes its not as simple as "We need your gym" and "Okay no problem you got.".

Still New London, Danville and Burl Notre Dame all travelled 60 miles to Lone Tree... So much for using geography to cut back on costs.

Iowa City High and Iowa City West are both traveling to Cedar Rapids to play at the US Cellular Center tomorrow. Isn't Carver-Hawkeye open? Oh, wait a minute. Maybe they could play at Regina? :)
