It is a big game regarding that district and in my opinion Wilton's chances to stay in the playoff hunt for at worst an at large berth.

I'd pencil the #3 team in that district is an at-large team. They basically have 3 or 4 gimme 17+ point wins

It is a horrible district. I actually think SK will beat Wilton in the final game of the season to take the 2nd spot. West Branch and Bellevue are worthy teams. However, not much after that either. Could probably say the same about some other districts too. However, this district is just not very good. There is just a big chasm between the best teams in 1A and the rest.

BC Moore's rankings has it by far the worst in the state.
Maquoketa Valley is not a bad 3rd team in District 3. They have some weapons. Outside shot at them being a wildcard if they can keep it honest in Bellevue game.

I'd argue S-K and Wilton would lose by 17 to the top teams as well.

It's interesting that 1A D1 is ranked so high on BCMoore (better than all but 1 2A district). My thoughts are D1 is way down from last year. What is that saying about the rest of 1A?

I am agreeing with you saying it is a terrible district. I have never been sold on Wilton and SK lost a lot. Not sure the others are significant at all (actually I am sure). That being said, if Wilton wasn't playing second fiddle to Regina, they could perhaps contend for a title in district 3. I'm not suggesting that they would win it but I think it would be a 3-way scrum. Wilton is not a top team in the state, however, and would not compete with WL, VM, PC, etc.... West Branch and Bellevue are the cream of the crop and pretty even. The rest aren't much better than the remainder in district 4. I don't think Eastern Iowa has the power in football as they have in past years. Still some pretty good teams, just not as many of them with "star" power. Playoffs will decide all this soon!

I agree. I think 1A is lacking some star power. Maybe someone is waiting to catch fire!

I will disagree some on Wilton, I was underwhelmed with them. I expected more. Maybe it was the first time getting punched in the face this year but they didn't punch back very much.

CID, I also am underwhelmed with Wilton. However, I am underwhelmed with Durant going to the final seconds with WB. Always dangerous to compare scores and I do feel WB is a better team the Wilton. District 4 has one quality team. District 3 has two. My point is, I don't think either district is very good.
It will be nice when teams are out of district play and all this theory becomes real.

The qb was elusive and I am going to guess that their schedule was weak. It's a recognizable name and there is a lack of quality teams out there.
