Core 3 Sports Rankings (Players)

The front court list needs some work for sure.

I was looking for the 3rd leading shot blocker in 4A last year who is 6'11 and couldn't find him on the front court list... I know a few of the players in the MAC would probably agree with him making the list since he is the leading returning shot blocker in 4A and had 28 more blocks than second leading returner Patrick McCaffery... Jared Beck-Davenport North

Another one who will eventually make your list as long as he stays eligible is Lacey Watson who is a Mid-Major to High-Major D1 talent as a 6'6 Wing/Forward. He would likely be Top 5 front court.

Hunter Snyder should be higher on the 2019 list. I would say teams key in more on him than they do Duwa. Duwa is a solid facilitator, but doesn't offer much of a threat other than from outside and Snyder is better defensively.

Your 2020 list will obviously expand this year and next year...

Some kids to watch for from the MAC:
Mekki Sisk- Guard- Davenport North--- Started Sophomores as a freshman and scored 25+ in each of 3 games with freshman to finish season.
Jamal Litt- Wing- Davenport North--- Aggressive offensively and excellent defensively. Needs to develop a more consistent jump shot.
Ty Anderson- Wing- North Scott--- This kid will be very high on your list. I would say he was the best freshman or second best in the MAC.
Jamal Winston- Bettendorf--- This kid was one of the Top 5 freshman in the MAC.
Sean Peeters- Assumption--- Dylan's (2019) younger brother who started out with a height advantage coming into high school.

I think when you look at CR Prairie you will find some solid kids coming up from the sophomore team from last season as well. I saw them play twice and they were a very solid basketball team.

I appreciate the feedback and it is very insightful and helpful. I don't know the eastern part of the state as well as the central or west but am getting better. With the Beck kid I had noticed his shot blocking from stats. However I have not seen film on him but I did notice he averaged 5.8 ppg and only 4.5 rpg. Is his athletic ability still improving? Does Dav. North not use him as much with their guard play? The points aren't a surprise as offense for a post can easily be dictated by what offense is run or what philosophy is used. I guess I was more taken back by the 4.5 rebounds. I know the MAC is tough conference but at 6'11 I would think he will be at a higher average such as 7.5 or higher. I am sure the young fella has put time in and could easily have breakout season this year. Big posts once they get the coordination, athletic skill, and basketball skills all working they can easily dominate for a season. The Watson kid is he the transfer I heard about that is coming from Illinois to Dav. North? If so I am anxious to see how he performs, since I have heard many positives about his basketball game. Dav. North could really be a force to deal with out in the MAC and the east part of the state. I also appreciate the insight on the young guys as it can be tough to know of all them especially at the freshmen level if they aren't at the varsity level. I imagine some of those guys will have some new roles this upcoming season.

Beck plays with limited time. If you look at his assists/turnover ratio you will find he is a very unselfish post guy who doesn't make a lot of mistakes with the ball. He isn't an aggressive post, so he doesn't dominate the boards. He was focused on boxing out guys rather than going up for rebounds over the last 2 years, but down the stretch last year those numbers improved when he started to just pursue the rebounds. I don't know that the scoring and rebounds will improve much with even more guard play. Another 2 that will eat up time will be Kennan Hollingshed and TJ Vesey. Depth isn't an issue for North for the first time in probably 2 decades.

Watson is the Illinois transfer and will be a 16-20 point per game guy with 6-8 rebounds if he stays eligible. He had a few impressive AAU performances in the summer including 50 points with 48 in the second half. 6'6 will likely play the 4 for North, but with a motion offense and a 4 out set he will likely operate as a awing/forward.
