Heard rumors that Western might have lost their QB for the season. Granstra I believe was out last week with a concussion. VanderHoops could verify.

Will be interesting if they will make a run similar to last year. Lots of athletes in NW Iowa.

I don't think he is out for the season...last I heard it could be 4-6 weeks but that was heard at the golf course on Sunday...so who knows

Better news than originally thought.
QB was not the cracked vertebrae (got speared in previous game) originally thought. 3-4 weeks.
Heard Granstra may be a wrenched neck instead of concussion. 1-3 weeks.

Big confidence booster last week to win without them.
2nd QB played well & a new batch of wide-outs stepping up.
Many thought we would win or lose on the legs of Granstra this year!

Even without the injuries, a run like last year is unlikely for Western IMO. Unless West Lyon gets hit with the injury bug, they appear to be the overwhelming favorite to head to the dome. Not saying they won't trip up, but so much experience there and a chip on their shoulder after losing the last 3 to Western. I think Western will make the playoffs as the rest of the district looks to have dropped off a bit. Emmetsburg will definitely test the run defense tonight and may be the biggest challenge outside of WL.
