No they wont. If IC West and CF wins they will meet in the Quarterfinals. If both Dowling and Valley win out they will play in the Semifinals

Yeah, they did that re-seeding thing for a couple of years (I think when they still had 32 qualifiers) but the brackets are set now.

They definitely have a better shot than last year. Lewis Central couldn't move the ball on them (until Valley's 2nd/3rd string came in) last year. This year will probably be different.

I suspect the state is much more interested in getting a piece of the gate (it will be one of the highest, if not the highest attended 1st round game) than trying to provide an arguable "cozy ride".

You were right on cruhawk. I wasn't at the game but listened to it. The LC defense led by Dane Theobald and crew were in the backfield all night. Council Bluffs and their kids are blue-collar and play extremely physical. I'm not sure where they go from here but definitely a big night for Western Iowa.

got to be the biggest win ever for lewis central, this win alone will be in the memories of the players many years from now..congrats to lewis central, i had a feeling they had a great chance to win this one. Nice victory against a school allmost 4 times as big

Caught the end of regulation and then OT on radio. LC forced to punt out of their own end zone with less than1:30 to go, into wind. Valley gets ball on LC 33 with 1:08 remaining no time outs. Two plays and Valley is inside the 20. Valley spike ball to make it 3rd and 5 with less than 30 seconds left. Valley chooses to not try 34 yard fg with the wind and runs another play but doesn't throw ball. Clock runs out prior to fg team getting on field.

LC scores first in OT, sacks valley to bring a 4th and 11 or so. Pass defended well by LC and game over. Great performance coming into Valley and getting victory.

Agree 100% this was the second time I watched LC play this year, the other game was against CBTJ which had the state leading rusher. I watched Lewis Central completely shut the kid down that night however in the back of my head I thought it wasn't against a blue blood team. Then tonight I saw first hand what they did to the valley offense, I now believe. I will tell you this, that defense is tough and I'm told by LC faithful they have players on defense that will play you on the field or fight you in the parking lot after the game. Its that kind of mentality
Very fun game to watch tonight.... next time I hope it's a little warmer.

i wish i could have been there, i have seen lewis central and harlan a few times in the past, mostly 90,s and late 80,s..i will see them on dvd, going to order them at end of yr...
