If you treated 1A football player inventory like a NFL draft with you being the GM for your organization -- what player in 1A would be your #1 draft pick and why.

That's almost worth its own thread, cid. I've seen both work before so it really becomes a matter of preference and what you're trying to do (i.e. finding the right players to fit your system).

I've seen teams with great lines pave the way to state titles. I've seen teams with great skill position players and serviceable lines do the same.

I'm sure most all of you have also seen teams with great linemen miss the playoffs, and the same with great skill position players who were just on smaller teams that couldn't build enough around their best athletes to have success.

For me personally, having a good line and establishing the LOS on both sides of the ball is the biggest key at the high school level. If you can do that, you can pretty much dictate the tempo of the game and force teams to play your game.

The only issue with that is that more and more teams are moving to these spread offenses and other similar styles that force teams to play in space making it possible to neutralize a pass rush and put the pressure more on your backs to make individual plays in the open field. If you have slower or inexperienced kids in your back 6 or 7 (or whatever style your D runs), they can be very prone to mismatches and giving up big chunks of yards. More and more teams want to turn the game into 7 on 7 (or 6 on 6 in the 11-man game....)

Kacmaryinski at Pella Christian. You could line him up at any of the positions.

I am not sure who I would draft, but it would definitely be a skill position and not a DL or OL. As stated earlier it take line(s) to pave the way. A singular lineman on either side of the bal cannot get it done on their own. A skill player cannot either really, but I want a hype freak that can tote the ball to the scoreboard.

Tigger's record(s) were broken about 7 years ago and continue to be broken.

But dont listen to me. Ask cyard "31". He's an "us" after all :)
Cyard some Bears help? I know Cade probably fits in there but Blame may have had him struck from the record books. I thought Tigger had some season records but must have been wrong and Follower wants you to share.

Tigger's were broken by Thompson. but Tigger has 3 state championships. But Tigger with them now :)

Cid you wrote "I would like some more west side chatter, we don't get to hear much until the semi's, would be good to hear more. The WB/Regina stuff just gets to be more of the same each day"

I would agree. even though teams are 8 miles away from each other & most likely won't play one another, I just don't think there is anything chatter out west.

Tigger is a great guy and a great football coach. Had him when I played. I wish nothing but the best for him.
As Tiggers' dad (rest in peace) used to tell Tigger before our games vs the Regals..... "You gotta play extra hard tonight, they have God on there side" I miss that man & his stories.

I'd take McCarty over Tigger but barely. Both had great top-end speed (Tigger by a nose) but Sean could run you over.
