Iowa Preps dives inside the Class 1A football ranks. We look ahead to week two, games to watch, and look back at what stood out to us from other the weekend. Get insider coverage that you will not find anywhere else now!

Game of the Week: Regina, Iowa City 21, Solon 13
This showdown once again pitted two of the elite teams in all of Iowa and even with a lot of new faces stepping in, Iowa City Regina avenged their loss for 2015 and showed why they are the favorite to win yet another title. This power house continues to play at another level than their opponents.

What else stood out:
Game: IKM-Manning 7, East Sac County 6 (OT)
Why: Low scoring in regulation but IKM-Manning made the plays they needed when it counted in overtime.

Game: Saint Ansgar 41, Newman Catholic 0
Why: A lot of new faces are stepping forward in 2015 but Saint Ansgar continues their dominance defensively.

Game: Waukon 30, South Winneshiek 6
Why: Finding playmakers offensively is key if South Winneshiek can accomplish big things during the fall.

Game: Anamosa 22, North Cedar, Stanwood 0
Why: A quarterback must step up and find a way for North Cedar to move the chains.

Game: Pella Christian 48, PCM, Monroe 11
Why: One of the most impressive victories of the early fall. The Eagles may have the best shot in 1A to take down Regina.

Game: Madrid 50, Van Meter 35
Why: Fireworks offensively. If Madrid can move the ball like this, the rest of the state better watch out.

Game: Panorama, Panora 48, Ogden 21
Why: Give Panorama some credit. They kept Ogden to just three touchdowns and spent the night lighting up the scoreboard.
