District Comparisons

Here are the average BCMoore scores for each district from lowest to highest, along with the top 2 teams (again, BCMoore) for each district.

District 9: 53.78; 11 (New London), 13 (Notre Dame, Burlington)
District 3: 54.67; 4 (Bishop Garrigan), 12 (St. Edmond)
District 8: 59.10; 1 (North Linn), 22 (Easton Valley)
District 15: 60.78; 15 (Boyer Valley), 19 (Tri-Center, Neola)
District 2: 69.44; 7 (South O'Brien), 37 (Newell-Fonda)
District 4: 69.90; 8 (Don Bosco), 23 (Hudson)
District 1: 71.22; 2 (George-Little Rock), 24 (Gehlen Catholic)
District 6: 75.00; 21 (Wapsie Valley), 25 (Edgewood-Colesburg)
District 12: 75.70; 14 (Martensdale-St. Mary's), 18 (Central Decatur, Leon)
District 11: 76.11; 5 (Grand View Christian), 9 (Ankeny Christian)
District 5: 76.44; 28 (Dunkerton), 41 (Janesville)
District 14: 77.22; 6 (St. Albert, CB), 45 (Exira/EH-K)
District 16: 87.00; 3 (St. Mary's, Remsen), 42 (Kingsley-Pierson)
District 7: 91.78; 17 (Gladbrook-Reinbeck), 50 (Meskwaki)
District 13: 100.56; 32 (Bedford), 64 (Southwest Valley)
District 10: 102.11; 10 (Lynnville-Sully), 33 (Montezuma)

Obviously the averages for each district are fairly meaningless. What's more important is the top few teams in each district and then in each substate.

What's interesting is the variance in districts as far as the "best" (according to BCMoore) teams. In District 11 you have #5 Grand View Christian and #9 Ankeny Christian. Meanwhile in District 14 you have #6 Council Bluffs St. Albert and #45 Exira/EH-K, and in District 16 you have #3 Remsen St. Mary's and #42 Kingsley-Pierson. Of course it would be impossible for the IAHSAA to balance all the districts perfectly, but it's just interesting to note the disparities.

Not saying this will happen, but who wins a NL vs CB St A first round match-up at State?

Baxter's going to have to play really, really well to win that district. ;)
