CF new High School

Although CF will be breaking ground on a new High School which will be located behind the UNI Some, I'm not sure a Football Stadium of High School Caliber will be built.

In the past when we voted on a new High School it included a new Football Stadium, it failed to pass each time.

When it passed this time, no Stadium other then a Track Stadium was shown to be included. I'm not sure what a new stadium costs, but the district is now asking for another 10million as of today.

Does CF pay rent to UNI for use of the Dome? If not, why would they even consider a stadium, what a huge advantage to have the Dome your “home field”.

Exactly! Especially when you look at the overall win percentage they have enjoyed there over 40+ years! They’ve got a good thing going for them as it is.

Cedar Falls does pay rent, the only major change I have seen the last 5yrs. Is the Sophs. Have been playing less home games in it and more home games at the old CF High Stadium.

I don't know the cost, but renting is a substantial cost per numerous folks I've talked to. It's great to play in the Dome, for sure....especially for a spectator. I wish they would build a nice new stadium and leave the Dome. That might sound blasphemous and I would be just fine with them staying, but why not put money into your own facility? I am unsure how concession $$$ are doled out too. I am not sure if CF even gets any from concessions.

Do you happen to know the current going rate of renting the dome for each game? I seem to recall that figure being around $700 +/- per game back in the early 90’s if I’m not mistaken.

No, I sure don't. My guess is that it would be substantially higher now. Now, you can rent a lot of nights in the Dome for years before you pay for a new football stadium, so I get it.
