Cedar Rapids Kennedy Uniforms Features Multiple Brands

I noticed that Cedar Rapids Kennedy Cougars (Class 4A, District 8) home and away uniforms features different brands for both the shirts and pants that they were on the field for game days.

This is a bit odd considering most uniforms I see have only one manufacturer for its entire uniform selection.

The home uniform features the Riddell brand for the shirt and the Under Armour brand for the pants

The away uniform uses the Adidas brand for the top and the Under Armour brand for the pants.

Not really that interesting most schools don't buy full sets together all of the time and the only school district that I know has a contract with a uniform provider is Ankeny with adidas

I don't think its that uncommon for public schools to do this because of budgets and cost of uniforms some teams may not be able to purchase full uniforms so often if pants or tops are still serviceable they will only purchase one or the other. Also I know teams will mix and match uniforms to give a different look for games. My son played for CR Wash and they did the same thing up until this year. Do it may just be a CR thing also.lol

I think teams will do that when they are making the transition to a new uniform brand too. I know a few years ago Heelan got a contract with Nike for their entire athletic program but the transition will take about 4 years. The football team wore their old home jerseys for a year while their pants and away jerseys were Nike. The school probably makes the decision on what teams need new uniforms and which teams can hold out for awhile.
