No, I’m sure a small faction, including some former teammates, will try and push it. That being said, I don’t think he’s ready and I don’t think those making the decision think he’s ready. I absolutely hope we keep him on staff though.
To be honest if the next coach doesn’t keep him on staff they’re stupid. He has a spirit that lifts up the team. Auburn is trash but he has them playing above their talent level.

Players like playing for him, but I cannot imagine what the conversations are like on that headset between him and the box.
Agreed. My biggest fear is he wins the next two (I know, iron bowl ain’t happening) and the players want the interim tag removed, as well as many of the fans. Then Caddy is gonna have to give a speech like Kodi Burns gave after losing job to Chris Todd in 2009 to keep the locker room on board with new coach…
I will say this… I hate the fvck out of all things Awbren .. BUT.. that said…. That was the the best post-game press conference I have ever heard If you haven’t seen it… watch it. He was very emotional and didn’t try to make it about him … just sincerely proud of the effort of that team. Like he was one of the kids.
I wish just one of our coaches could show that pride, drive and sincerity. That team won with about a third of the talent we have .

I didn’t watch the presser, but did watch his post game on the field. His passion is there. I absolutely love Caddy, and I want him to stay in Auburn. I don’t think he’s ready for the head coach job by any means.
Yeah, what was the deal with that after the game? He rambled on for like 10 minutes and I couldn’t understand a good majority of what he was saying. Maybe it was the delta8 gummies I had.
That kind of stuff will only take you so far though. Eventually it wears off and you have to be a real coach. And while I hate aTm with a burning passion, mostly because of Jimbo, they were severely depleted in terms of the available roster. Achane didn’t play and a whole bunch of others. So their misery pleases me but let’s not hang COTY on Caddy. That scene was just bizarre. You’d think they’d beaten Bama and Georgia at the same.
That’s why I don’t think he’s ready. I know that was special for him, but the moment was almost “too big” for him after beating a 3-6 A&M team that is a disaster. To some degree, you have to act like you’ve been there before. I was legitimately concerned our fans were going to rush the field after the win… that would have been embarrassing as fvck.
