First off, I think we can all agree blanket generalizations such as all of any race being “bad” or “good” for that matter, are complete folly. But to say that conservatives use “feelings” not “facts” to support arguments and positions is delusional. Recent history is littered with conservative candidates losing to leftists by arguing tangible facts like lowering marginal tax rates and societal consequences of personal responsibility only to lose to leftists who use feeling based talking points like “fair share” and “it’s killing the children”. Secondly, I know of nobody even remotely defending the actions of Chauvin because he is “white” and to say so just continues fanning the flames of racial discord. Lastly, we’re hearing all about this mythical growing “white supremacist” movement without any proof at all. In fact, they’ve spent tens of millions of $ on Fort Pelosi to protect them from the inevitable “insurrectionists” only to have one incident by a supporter of Nation of Islam.

For the record, I liked GD's post because he took a swipe at 2 Presidents who were both in office for 8 years, yet neither really accomplished anything when it came to immigration. I believe in reform when it comes to immigration. It shouldn't take a decade to become a legal citizen. However, there are laws on the books, and people like you and the rest of your liberal buddies want those laws ignored. Open the borders!

I agree that the black Americans were treated like shit up until the Civil Rights in the 60's. Was I alive to do anything about since I was born in 1969? The answer is no because it happened in the past and not being a time traveler there is little I or anyone else can do to about it but recognize what happened.
But myself being of Irish and American Indian (Cherokee) decent, you do realize that these people were equally treated as sub-humans as well. Most Irish were indentured servants (white slaves) and the other were kicked off their land in FL and sent to live in Oklahoma ( Trail of Tears). I recognize this as well but I don't go around crying about reparations all the time.
The current American Indian communities deal with poverty, drug use and alcoholism the same as the African American community - but the MSM does not give it any air time. Every wondered why? It does not fit the narrative from Washington and keep to their agenda to keep the two races baiting each other so that nancy, chuck, mitch and lindsey can stay in power. And facebook, amazon, wal mart, twitter, google et al are assisting to make sure they keep them in power.
What needs to be done is give assistance both those communities is fund better education systems, helping to maintain a nuclear family structure, and helping fund a jobs program to get them to quit living off the government dime and learn to be responsible for their own actions. As someone who has coached kid's sports - I can tell you when a child does not a father at home (whether black, white or mexican) vs. one that does. And that is the main issue affecting all communities to date in America.
We can fund these programs by the US to quit giving tax payer monies to Iran, Palestine or the other numerous foreign nations that despise the US but gladly take our $$$$.
What panic to exonerate Chauvin? If found guilty - he goes to jail. Found innocent - he goes free. That is for the courts to decide. If anything I feel there is more pressure to find him guilty due the riots that will ensue if found otherwise.
Excellent points, dusty. The welfare state needs to shrink, not expand. Black conservatives have been stressing the education angle for years. The inner city public school systems are a disaster. If FEMA is necessary on the border, they should have been deployed to the inner cities years ago.
While I do believe that the US can, and should, help other countries, I strongly believe in an America First mindset. If not giving Pakistan a few billion dollars means that better education opportunities can exist for American children, sign me the fvck up.

I can actually respect some of this. The main qualms being that it’s a myth that government programs foster dependency. Nations with larger social safety nets than us have higher social mobility. We have created historic barriers against these groups for hundreds of years that will take generations to undo. And I completely agree with investing in education, infrastructure, and other reinvestment above all else. Studies show the difference between liberals and conservatives in policy is actually much less than the extremists think. The difference is that liberals attack the problems and conservatives just attack liberals...while doing nothing.

Myth my fatass! Ask my wife who teaches 4th grade about parents wanting their kids labeled "mentally retarded" when they are not so that their gov't check is bigger each month. Government programs such as welfare and SSI Disability have made and keep these type of folks dependent on the government. I guarantee if the gov't said after two kids - you have to leave gov't housing and would get no more monies, this would cure women have 5,6,8 or 10 kids to keep getting that government money.
'Your social mobility' is another example of someone not wanting to hold the individual responsible for their own well being and not dependent on the government. Take Dr. Ben Carson, from the ghetto to becoming a respected doctor to leading one of the largest government agencies. Or an immigrant that came to America with no language skills or any idea what the hell to do but drive a cab. But through hard work was able to buy a local hotel and put others in his situation to work. Or anyone that started a company from scratch and made themselves a millionaire.
This country was founded, must to the disdain of the liberal/progressives, on the belief that if you work hard you can achieve your 'dream'. I've told my two sons that in the early days of America, if a person didn't want to hunt, fish or learn to farm - that person learned to starve to death or they figured out to do one those skills to survive.
Being in sales, my job requires a lot of hours working at night and the weekend to meet deadlines. I don't have to do it, but I do it because I like the commission income and the benefits that accompany the increased income. If a person wants to be on the disability then they can earn that mighty $1,000 check each month but don't bitch to me about it.
