Fresh off the presses!

1) IC Regina - 38-0 shutout. Will continue D6 Sunday drive
2) South Winn - inching closer to top with signature like win Friday vs NH
3) FDSE - still going...and going.
4) West Branch - needed a test, they got it and passed without playing near top of their game
5) Saint Ansgar - the wishbone is not breaking. Top 5 strong.
6) West Lyon - and normalcy is restored in Lyon County
7) Ogden - big win last night vs. Madrid, but exposed defense. If Sorti doesnt get hurt...hmmm?
8) IKM-Manning - still need a signature win
9) Sumner-Freddy - welcome to the big time. Win this week, move into top 5. Lose, and you're out.
10) Madrid - They lost but are top 10 worthy.

OTHERS: Hudson, AHSTW, Bellevue, North Cedar, Hinton

Santi's injury definitely eliminated any chances for a Madrid win, but the Tigers were on the verge of falling behind the pace, anyway. Ogden was starting to bottle Santi up on that pitchout play, and that was the only play Madrid had with any home run potential. Meanwhile, Ogden was hitting on big plays all over the place.

In my opinion, I think your first 8 teams are well-chosen and your reasoning sound. I think better choices could be made for #9 and #10 however.

9. Hudson: 3-1 record and has beaten Sumner-Fredericksburg this year. Loss was to a very good A team (AGWSR, 4-0). My problem with S-f being ranked as a Top 10 team is that their 3 victories are over teams that have a very real chance of each finishing last in their respective districts.

I am not saying S-F is a poor team, and I realize a team can only play who is on their schedule. I would respond to that anticipated critique by saying that I am not punishing S-F; I simply don't think they have accomplished anything yet to make them worthy of a Top 10 ranking.

10. North Cedar: 3-1 record, 14 point loss to powerhouse West Branch. A more-deserving performance for the number 10 spot than a team that just gave up 60+ to the number #7 team, in my opinion.

Bellevue and Hinton are still in need of a signature win, or at least a credible performance against a very good team. AHSTW has that vexing loss to Audubon, but they will certainly get their statement opportunity this week vs. IKM.

i respect that, Bee.

as for Bellevue, they get a shot to play WB this week at the Little Rose Bowl. We shall see if they are ready for prime time.

No love yet for Ogden, huh? I was kind of impressed by what they did to Madrid last week. They have not played a team with a losing record this year..

Hinton has not played a team with a winning record yet (0-4, 1-3, 2-2, 0-4).

Just some food for thought ...

1) South Winn - A HUGE victory over a Top 5 2A team in New Hampton plus the game was at NH
2) IC Regina - Slightly behind since they have lost a game
3) FDSE - power running is making their offense look hard to stop
4) West Branch - always a quality team
5) Saint Ansgar - Looks a lot better with Kyle Hanson gone, maybe that was this teams problem last year.
6) Madrid- lose against Ogden was a fluke with Santi getting injured
7) Sumner Fred- Tehel looking good with a good running game behind him
8) West Lyon- lost Snyder and company. Little down this year
9) Ogden- should of lost this week. Luck was on their side
10) Hudson- looking like good contender in D4. Just beating Jesup a better football team then they were last year.

Sour grapes...a win is a win and Madrid still gave up 63 points and 636 yds of offense! Not going to win many games doing that.
