Best lineman in 8 man

Honestly I think smith from DB is looking good this year, there are a lot of good lineman out there, but he stands out to me as one of the better ones

In my opinion mason scheidegger is the best lineman in 8 man, he handled smith last year in the quarters and he's a great defensive player definitely a big part of their success and I've heard smith isn't as good at defense more of an offensive player.

Mason Scheidegger is a very good lineman and has a DI-AA offer to prove it. 6'5" makes a difference. You can't coach a kid to be 6'5". His body of work speaks for itself. He may very well be the best lineman prospect and player in 8 man this season.

You may want to check game tape on your statement regarding the qtrs. last year. From what I saw and remember, for the most part when Smith was responsible for blocking Scheidegger, he got blocked.

As far as defense last year, Bosco had a pair of Sr's in Tj Even and Brandon French who were defensive specialist, so Smith didn't play a ton of defense. This year if you don't double team Smith, he will be in your backfield all night long raising heck. So when you double Smith, one of the other guys runs free, and Smith may still get there at the same time. Scheidegger after 6 games has 16.5 tackles with zero tackles for loss and no sacks. Smith after 4 games has 21.5 tackles, 6 solos for loss with 3 solo sacks. Bosco has several very good defensive lineman, so Smith still isn't in on every play on defense this year. Truthfully I think the Dons would be fine without him on that side of the ball. But he sure is fun to watch play defense.

Tom Yezek belongs in this conversation as well. It's a shame he is injured and unable to play right now. That kid is a baller and a great personas well. He was a stud as a sophomore when the Dons faced NK in the regular season and then again in the playoffs.

Great topic for discussion NF Fan ! I'm sure there are several great lineman who get overlooked in the media.

As for defensive linemen, Lenox's Spencer Brown would be up there, just based on his size alone. Not many kids in Eight-Man who are 6-8, 240. Getting looks from Iowa, ISU and UNI, as well.
