Preseason and I'm already asking questions Brent.

Does the computer assume all teams "grow" equally, or is there some kind of momentum factor?

Example:

Week 8 Rankings, 3 Teams A, B, and C.

In Week 1 Team A beats Team B by 7 points. Team B proceeds to win 5 straight before losing in week 7 to Team C by 7 points. Does the computer value the victories for Team A and Team B equally? Assume both were home games for Team B.

I imagine a more likely effect than "growth" would be injuries and kids becoming eligible/ineligible, however, a young team is likely to have more improvement from experience than an old team. It also may be more relevant to ask if the games are weighted any differently as they progress throughout the year.

There is no momentum factor in the published rankings. All games count the same. You could re-order the sames and get the same output.

If you look in the "Testing" reports, you will see a ranking that is based on momentum "last 5 games only". This rankings has less predictive power than the standard published ranking.
