Can you give us an insight as to why the computer might have Dowling #4 despite being undefeated, having beaten the #1 team, and playing the 2nd hardest schedule in 4A?

Probably has something to do with Dowling only having five games played while everyone else has six.

> number of games

no effect

Dowling has a 7-point win against #7 and a 1-point win over #8
Valley has a 31-point win versus #8 and a 38-point win over #10

Computer thinks Dowling upset Valley.

If there were a rematch tomorrow on a neutral field, you should be favored and by how much?

As a litmus test, check and balance:
did the (manmade) 'computer' provide a similar ranking, after Valley defeated Dowling, last year (2014). Did Dowling and Valley switch in the polls?

p.s. the software and hardware of a computer is designed by man (or woman).
man is made with different 'likenesses' of God.
man is not perfect.
that implies that computer models are not perfect.

(thinking way, way back to last week. Remember the 3 day advance warning of a Category 4 Hurricane that was sure to hit the east coast last week - per computer models?
And to think that some - incorrectly - support scientific computer modeling of the future climate conditions, decades from now - and consider 'man' a detriment. Meanwhile, under-reported, scientitists admit that the number of trees was underestimated by 4x.
You know, those plant life things in the world, from junior high biology, that things that need and use carbon and make oxygen thru photosynthesis and sunlight? It is amazing. And no, that is not man-made - although man does like to study, learn, write papers (right and wrong ones) about the environment.)

imho

p.s.t. But it is way, way o.k. to humbly, and selflessly try to improve in the direction of perfection.
( it is better than trying to go in some other misdirection)

p.s.s.t. rankings do not (accurately) tell us whom will win a match up.
rankings change,
conditions change,
outcomes vary,
experiences increase and / or attrition occurs,
That is the main part of what makes a game interesting - the dynamics of an uncertain outcome. An the outcome depends upon the efforts of those actually playing the game on-the-field - with the other intangibles.
