We all know that, but what is the emphasis on then?

Let us look at the facts:

N-K +53 points head to head
N-K in top 12% in SOS
Clarksville in bottom 12% in SOS
N-K averages about 9 points less offensively, but they also average about 10 points less defensively.

How does an algorithm lead to Clarksville being the better, or equal, team? It has to be very heavily weighted toward the offensive numbers, considering N-K has them beat in every other category.

I think we need to have more emphasis placed head to head here like someone said. I see a bunch of teams that are rated real close to each other that are rated opposite of how the outcome came out (West Bend/GTRA, NK/Clarksville) Also, just my opinion here, I think the weekly game predictions shouldn't be sliding scales after the game is finished. What they are at the time of the game being played should remain that way for the rest of the year rather than changing from week to week.

GT beat WBM at WBM , and are ranked lower

WBM lost to #5 GTRA.
GTRA lost to #8 Marcus MMC

This one seems reasonable; GTRA has the worse loss (to a lower ranked team).

I really like your criticism of the computer on this one. Computer may be putting too much weight on the Clarksville-North Iowa result.

Why is MMC rated lower than GTRA though? Their loss was to #1...so they have the best lost according to this logic. They should be rated higher than GTRA, which would make GTRA's loss to them look better, therefore making them rated higher than WBM.

Sometimes a computer is too smart for it's own good.
