IC West over Dub. Hempstead, 76- 54. Devonte Lane's multiple steals are the difference after Hempstead led by 5 early. West plays fabulous defense and is patient. They just don't do all the stupid, silly things that their opponents do. So well-coached.
CR Xavier bests Dub. Wahlert by 4 in Cedar Rapids. Big night for Mitch Burger of the Saints. Not an upset.
Dyersville Beckman over Clayton Ridge in 2A, 78- 48

CR Washington 50, Dubuque Senior 47; McDonnell 23, Printy 19 (Wash moves into share of MVC division crown)
CBAL 73, SC Heelan 57
Washington 57, Grinnell 51
Linn-Mar 60, Wat. West 50

A lot of these 3A, 4A scores got overlooked, as the regular season comes to a close except for the ICW game Fri. night.

Surprised with Janesville going down! Out of them, Meskwaki, and Colo, I felt they had the easiest road to state. Really surprised, wonder what happened! They have a solid team.

Got some Class 1A District 2 Updates here..

GT-RA over West Bend Mallard 68-36. They move on to face Manson Northwest Webster (who beat Alta/Aurelia 63-61) next Tuesday in Manson.

Currently:

Bishop Garrigan 32 - North Union 19 Halftime

Storm Lake St. Mary's barely on top of Newell Fonda

Winners will face off in Manson next Tuesday as well. Beginning of a district semi-final doubleheader. District Championship will be next Thursday at Emmetsburg.

BCLUW 14
Gladbrook Reinbeck 51
Half BCLUW scored one bucket in the second period with 8 sec left.

AP over Hampton Dumont 65-59. Sounds like it was a very up and down game. HD led by 2 at end of 1. Tied at 36 at half. AP had a comfortable lead before HD came roaring back in the 4th and made it close but AP made free throws to close it

IC Regina didn't get a chance to end West Branch's football season, but they did get to end their basketball season with a 69-54 win.
WB came out hot with rivalry fueled energy, but Regina chipped away. At the end of the first half, Regina's Drew Cook grabbed a rebound, pivoted and nailed a one handed full court shot for a 4 point Regina lead at halftime.

The Regals came out in the third and played well, extending their lead to around 10. West Branch started to hit some 3's in the 4th as they played with desperation. But, Regina's Drew Cook took over from inside and outside, with the Regals building an 18 point lead before winning by 15.

Drew Cook with a huge game; 40 points, 4 three pointers and numerous rebounds and blocked shots. Regina will play Wilton in the District Final on Tuesday.

Huge Upset in 2A..... Notre Dame gets bit by West Burlington 70-65....Falcons move on to play Highland

In 1A......Danville, Van Buren, Holy Trinity, Winfield Mount Union all winners tonight.

I was in attendance for the BND/WB game. Xavier Williams self destructed with two technical fouls.......a premier athlete in southeast Iowa, no discipline. Then Hoscheck followed with a third technical. They did not represent their school very well on the court last night.
