I don’t know if Bama hangs on to this because Daniels is an annoyingly good freak, but this offense goes from
being painful to watch to straight up dangerous using Milroe the way Bama has tonight.

It kind of helps that LSU's defense has been mostly dog shit the whole season. AU's playcalling made them look good for one game, but other than that, Swiss cheese.
I considered that, and obviously it helps Bama. But Bama has called like zero designed runs for Milroe before tonight. It was one of my biggest complains about Rees up to now.

Based on their play on defense, that was clearly an accident. They haven't hit shit on purpose.

Bama/UGA in Atlanta is going to be a hell of a game.
Will be interesting to see how UGA does the next few weeks. Bama is 4-1 against the top 20 after tonight. UGA hasn't played a top 30 team yet.

I thought it was heartwarming to see the spuat player target the LSU QB and doing his best 'Nick Fairley' impression. At first I wondered 'they outlawed that, didn't they...?'.... then I remembered, 'oh yeah, this is an Alabama game AT Tuscaloosa...'.
Sort of comforting knowing the refs can still take over a game. Kudos!

I actually liked the QB hit….might have been a little rough by today’s standards but it wasn’t flagrant.

Bait aside, we did get a 15yd penalty on the play.
Also the head official for the game was named Daniel Gautreaux...he lives in Lafayette, LA.
A targeting penalty would have benefited UK more than LSU imho.

Kentucky isn’t top 30 in the current sagarin ratings, but Missouri did move up to 25th.
The outrage on the hit this past weekend makes me laugh. They flagged Bama for roughing the passer, they just didn’t rule it targeting (which it wasn’t).
I would've been more bothered by the clear horsecollar they didn't flag on bama, only to flag it on LSU later.

I had to look it up because I didn’t know which play you were referring to. Does that kind of tackle fall under the horse collar rule? I really don’t know, I thought when they made that rule that you had to be dragged down from behind/the side by the horse collar for it to be a penalty.
Are we both talking about the tackle on Daniels just before the half? It’s borderline at best. It isn’t illegal to grab the horse collar, you just can’t drag them down with it. He was slung forward. Not the type of tackle that the rule exists for.
Did they talk to a rules guy on the broadcast about it? I’d be genuinely curious to hear his interpretation. Perhaps I’ve always misunderstood the rule.

He got slung to the ground by the horse collar. I don't care, and certainly not enough to look it up or argue about it. On the broadcast, the comment by the team doing the job was that bama was lucky for not being called for horse collar. As far as that goes, Saratore said that the hit on Daniel's by Turner later was targeting by definition. The point of what I said in my first post was that LSU got called for a similar "tackle" that bama didn't. That's all.
Fair enough. It looks very borderline to me because of how he was tackled, but I can see why it can be argued that it should’ve been called. LSU scored a TD two plays later so at least it didn’t affect the outcome.
