Assuming everybody you picked to win in the First Round does, how do you see the Second Round pairing up?

I'm going with the assumption that all the home teams are going to win tonight with the exception of Urbandale(to Ames). Here's how I would see the Second Round...

Ames(6-3) @ West Des Moines Valley(9-1)
Council Bluffs Lewis Central(9-1) @ Waukee(9-1)
Ankeny Centennial(8-2) @ Ankeny(7-3)
Southeast Polk(6-4) @ West Des Moines Dowling(9-1)

Muscatine(8-2) @ Bettendorf(10-0)
North Scott(8-2) @ Pleasant Valley(7-3)
Iowa City West(6-4) @ Linn-Mar Marion(9-1)
Cedar Falls(8-2) @ Cedar Rapids Washington(10-0)

Screwloose-

I like your thinking and I agree for the most part with a couple changes. I also see Ames getting past Urbandale. However, I have Johnston upsetting Centennial. If I'm wrong and Centennial wins, I don't see Boone matching up Ankeny and Centennial because they've already played this year and they wouldn't want the same town to eliminate the other unless it simply cannot be avoided. With said, here's how I think the pairings will get shuffled and Boone's reasoning:

Ames(6-3) @ West Des Moines Valley(9-1)
[Re: Valley gets Ames because they haven't played them yet]

Council Bluffs Lewis Central(9-1) @ Waukee(9-1)
[Re: Waukee gets LC after LC gets their travel coddle gift and have their rematch against CB-L. LC finally gets welcomed to 4A after only facing one top 10 team in their regular season].

Johnston (6-3) @ Ankeny(7-3)
[Re: Besides LC, Ankeny had the easiest 1st round opponent in DSM-L (3-6) which should have gone to Dowling or Waukee. Now, they get a tough Johnston because Johnston has already played Waukee and Dowling].

Southeast Polk(6-4) @ West Des Moines Dowling(9-1)
[Re: Dowling gets SEP. This is usually a regular season match-up and it makes sense Boone would set this pairing because SEP has already played Valley and Waukee.]

Who cares about the east side of the state...they're going to lose to whoever emerges from the west.

So, beating Johnston, the team you admit right below as a "tough" opponent for Ankeny, wasn't enough of a welcome to 4A for LC?

Don't get lippy with me, I called both upsets.

As I said, Johnston would beat Centennial (not Ankeny). I never said Centennial was any good either. Now you get either Valley or Waukee or another gift from Boone with an average Ankeny team. Lucky for LC they already faced Dowling. Again, my guess is Waukee...Enjoy your forthcoming "real" 4A experience.

LC did something right - #2 seed in a district that has three teams alive after tonight. Not sure if they can compete with any of the #1 seeds, but they definitely have one of the most exciting players you will see.
