I know there has been a lot of talk of 8 man teams being forced to consolidate with another school, are there any 8 man schools who could possibly move up to 11 man next year when the new districts come out?

Sounds like MMC and Remsen-Union will be doing the whole grade sharing thing, so they'll probably jump up to a 1A school I would think.

8-man lost several teams this year. CAL, Northeast Hamilton, and Laurens-Marathon come to mind, but they've all joined schools that are already 11-man schools. None of these schools will be forming a new school, so I'm not sure if there will be any other schools other than the new MMC-RU.

Looking at the BEDS numbers ( http://www.iahsaa.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/2015-2016-BEDS-Num.pdf ), it looks like there are some schools over the 115 limit as of now. I'm not sure how these will translate to next season when they redo the classifications since these are numbers for 2015-16.

Guthrie Center (118)
Kingsley-Pierson (122)
Newell-Fonda (122)

Now that I look at the previous year, I'm not sure how these numbers came to be. In 2014-15, the numbers were

Guthrie Center - 112 (+6, not much of a change)
Kingsley-Pierson - 100 (+22 students in one year?)
Newell-Fonda - 103 (+19 students in one year?)

I guess this could be accounted for by a small class graduating and a large class coming in, but those are pretty big gains. Will another small class come in to bring those numbers back down?
