It's finally football season once again in the state of Iowa! How does everyone see this district playing out? 7 of the 8 teams last year were playoff teams! I believe it is the best district in 8 Man this year! This is how I feel the district will play out....
1. Bedford- This will be there first year in 8-Man but as history shows most teams that drop from Class A to 8-Man usually have pretty good success. Also a team who went 6-4 last year in Class A and made the playoffs.
2. Lenox- A team that went 10-1 last year! They will no longer have legend head coach Allen Dukes or star player Spencer Brown but still feel they return a solid core of players!
3. Wayne- A team that went 8-2 last year but won't have star running back Carson Kiefer back. Still think they'll be a solid team this year but won't have as much as Bedford or Lenox.
4. Stanton- Don't know a whole lot about Stanton but they went 6-4 and made the playoffs in one of 8-mans best districts.
5. Murray- A team that went 3-7 last year and fell to Moravia in the 1st round of playoffs! They return 6 of 8 starting players from a year ago including running backs Jack Jones who rushed for 1,082 yards and 15 scores and Dustin Teas who rushed for 303 yards and 6 scores. They also return Joshua Barber who was there leading tackler from a year ago with 91.5 tackles! Zane Black will take over the helm at the QB spot this year! Very experienced group but just don't see them climbing higher then 4-5th spot this year will the talent in this group. Though they could surprise some people so don't count em out!
6. East Union- A team that went 6-4 last year and made the playoffs! Lost there top rusher Mike Ward and one of there best linemen Tyler Kelley.
7. Mormon Trail- A team that went 6-4 last year and made the playoffs! Heard a rumor only have 10 kids out this year and Senior running back Kale Horton isn't playing this year? If this is true could be a long year for them..
8. Lamoni- Don't know to much about Lamoni this year other then they went 3-6 last year and were the only team in this district to not make the playoffs last year!
