If it pans out this way...

Potential Upsets...
CR Kennedy over Muscatine
Hempstead over North Scott
Senior over Cedar Falls
Prairie over Bettendorf
Central over Linn Mar

Not sure the West offers many upset options in 2/3 because some 3's are better than 2's... Possible "upsets"
Johnston over Centennial
Ames over Urby
FD over Ankeny(This is the only legit upset if it happened)
None of the 4's can touch the 1's.

These are POTENTIAL upsets. I would be most confident in Kennedy and Hempstead winning in the East. Ames and Johnston winning in the West.

Honestly, the Johnston Lewis Central game, I think Johnston will end up winning. However, I wanted to see how the pairings could shake out if it did go this way, not to mention I seem to be wrong about everything else week-to-week...figured I better cover myself.

If Johnston doesn't tackle Lewis Central's QB any better than they did Boyle, it could very well happen. I will say that Johnston had some opportunities to make the game closer and they were only down 11 at half. I say "only" since most of Dowling's games this year have been over at half. But they made too many mistakes in the second half...fumbled kick off, pick 6, blocked punt which against Dowling usually turns into a running clock and it did. Also, they tried to run many of the same plays they had success with the first half which Dowling had adjusted to and quickly sniffed out.

Dowling's offensive line other than the center is just massive...probably the biggest high school line I've seen. Plus they have a couple tight ends that probably weigh 210-220. The later the game goes...those big boys just wear out the other team and that's what happened on Friday.

Watched East play CBLC via internet, they like the pass ( threw for over 400 yards) and they never give up, east went ahead late in the game and CB marched down the field to score and force OT. I know CBLC jumped up to 4A this year, thought they might need a few years to adjust but they are proving me wrong! Strength is the QB, big time player. Weakness is overall depth ( players going both ways) and Secondary ( allowed 400 yards through the air)

Should be a shoot out between Johnston and CBLC, will be watching if I can find it online.

I think IC West beats PV and get's the #1 seed. It's at West on senior night. West is starting to play their best football right now and with playing #1, #2, and #4 in state, their SOS will only help them.

You very well could be right, Hawki_dynasty. Think you're looking at this a little one-sided though. Pleasant Valley has reeled off four wins in a row themselves and every common opponent these teams have played, Pleasant Valley has beaten by a larger margin(Pleasant Valley did lose by more to Bettendorf however). That doesn't always mean everything, just appears you're not looking at both sides. That's why it's played on the field and not a computer screen.
