4A Game Talk - Valley, West Des Moines (18-4) vs. Des Moines, North (18-5)

On 3 consecutive plays the officials called a travel on North when a Valley kid tackled him, missed a goaltend, and then called a phantom and 1. The boys union should be ashamed that they would assign this crew to this game.

Quite the battle last evening. Valley defense keeping Jal and Ty out of the paint was key to the victory. Jal was averaging over 15pts and I believe Curry held him to 6pts. Ty took some early long shots/misses and that got him rattled, started forcing it. Refs had nothing to do with the loss.

Though, if you watch the film posted everywhere, Crowley did stand in the lane 6 seconds before receiving the pass for the final dunk.

I watched the final play and counted to 4 seconds in the lane...However, once he receives the pass and attempts the shot the count is off...its close but no official is going to call 3 seconds when the count is that close.....I hear your argument but the defense left him wide open...

On the video posted all over Twitter, he starts in the lane, and the video runs to 6 seconds before catching the pass. I don't care who won the game, didn't watch it at all, or really care that this wasn't called. But, it probably should have been called.

i just did a manual count from the Gazette video....I watched it again in slow motion...his left foot is in the lane to start, so I see what you are talking about...
