4A has been steady with no huge upsets so far. I'll be reporting after the Iowa City vs. Dubuque Senior game. City High has a bunch of leapers, but Senior is finally at full strength, I think.

Liberty of Iowa City is peaking right now, so Hempstead better have somebody step up besides Mr. Duax.

I’ve watched City High 5 times this year...if they are locked in and Senior comes out flat, City could potentially pull off the upset (however it’ll prolly take a miracle). Seems like the City assistant coach always has a a good gameplan, while head coach manages personalities.

Watch out for Liberty vs Hemp. Liberty has the size and athleticism to give Duax fits. If Hazeltine/Taylor/Tyler are on from the outside, I could see an upset.

Cedar Falls 63 - Linn Mar 40, Final (CF led 29 - 26 at half with a Linn Mar half court 3 at the half time buzzer, outscoring Linn Mar 25-4 in the 3rd)

Landon Wolf was blistering hot! 30 points, seven made 3's.

Waterloo West 83 - CR Jefferson 47, Final

North Scott 54 - CR Kennedy 37, Final

Dubuque Hempstead 52 - Iowa City Liberty 49, Final

Senior blew past Iowa City High 80- 57. Senior is so disciplined, but also explosive. They don't take bad or forced shots like the other city teams have a tendency to do. . Six juniors and a soph in their top eight. Senior had two players injured in the game: Juniors Kendrick Watkins-Hogue separated his shoulder and forward Tyler Schuster hurt his leg. Multiple wild melees with steals, re-steals, re-re-steals etc. Cooper Medinger, who was out several weeks, was the leading scorer for Senior, now 19-3..

More 4A scores:
Ankeny 66, Fort Dodge 46
Ankeny Centennial 65, DM Roosevelt 38
Davenport North 55, CR Prairie 45
Johnston 65, Indianola 60
Sioux City East 46, Ames 43.
Waukee 54, DM Lincoln 31
WDM Valley 90, DM North 55
Pleasant Valley 59, Davenport Central 47
Iowa City west 58, Ottumwa 28

EIH, Sounds like Senior's win came at great cost. How serious were the injuries? Separated shoulder might be hard to come back from. Was it his shooting shoulder? Or weakside shoulder? If they can't come back, that's a lot of production that the rest of the team will have to step up and cover for, considering those are their 1st and 4th leading scorers.

They both will be fine both plan to play Tuesday in substate final or will at least attempt to

Maybe Gavin (above) has more information. Schuster at least could walk and sat on the bench the rest of the game. My impression is that he may be abe to get back by Tuesday. Watkins-Hogue, Senior's leading scorer, also returned to the bench with his shoulder/arm "freeze-wrapped" to his chest. His return is more up in the air. Senior was led in scoring by Cooper Medinger, with 16. He missed the Senior game with Cedar Falls. Senior's strength is that they can throw eight players at you that could start for almost any team in the state. This certainly doesn't help.

Anybody have any information on Davenport North? They have been surging lately. Saw a clip on TV of them, and they seem to have a lot of tall, long players.

Both Senior players should be good to go on Tuesday, one is a re-injury from football that has happened before, the other was a mild sprain and had treatment already with laser and is much improved.
