Pella 41, Harlan 39, after Pella was up 35-0.

CR Xavier is running all over #1 Solon in the first half, 28-0, behind an incredible performance by Xavier QB Quinn Schulte. Best half by a player I've seen this year.
Now, Schulte scores his 4th TD and Xavier leads #1 Solon 35- 0 at the half.

Can you believe two semifinal games with the 35-point mercy rule in effect? Maybe if no rule, Harlan has more time to come back?

The rule is only in effect if it is 35 points in the second half, the clock doesn’t run continuous in the first half. Harlan scored to end the first half 35-7 and the margin never made it to 35 in the second half, there was no running clock in that game

While the running clock never came into play for Pella-Harlan, that third quarter went really fast against Solon. They ran just three plays in the quarter for -5 yards. That does make it really tough to claw back from 35 points down.

How about the Harlan game?? That is the Coach Bladt I have watched and admired over the years. No giving up, no panic, dusting off the play book with an attempted half-back pass, the hook and ladder, going for it and getting a blocked punt. Harlan looked like they were shot out of a cannon in the 2nd half. Good to see, great life lesson for the kids. It's never over until you say it is.
