WSR played that OT all wrong. Tried to force feed the Phyfe after Techau went out. Just run your offense from that point out and you win it, IMO. They gave away their hand.

The refs had a tough job in this slug fest and were not up to the challenge. The T and making the Xavier coach sit the rest of the game was bush league officiating. The younger official looked scared. Typical, IHSAA effort assigning that crew to that game. Like you didn't know Xavier vs WSR wasn't going to be overly physcial.

Xavier wins in OT, 47- 41. Exciting game, although I was blocked from watching it by Comcast. Should say it sounded exciting.

How was the T bush league? They mauled Phyfe everywhere he went and complained every time they called it a foul. I know that was their game plan and that is fine but you can't argue every call if that is what you are going to do. What really should be brought into question is if they are going to give the coach a T and he gets the seat belt rule, why didn't they enforce that on the assistants who stood whenever they wanted the rest of the game?

I talked to another coach post game, it is interesting that a point of emphasis every year is to clean up post play then at the highest level of competition the state tournament they allow what they did last night. The officials were very consistent and fair both ways, but the game was not called within the intent of the rules to clean up post play.
