Prediction: Very intriguing match up and MOC is playing well. But Wahlert is on another level and they know how to win at the State tournament. Wahlert by 7.

Prediction: Pella gets a lucky draw as they do not have to match up with Xavier again this year. Pella runs Perry out of the gym. Their depth/athletes will be tough to match up. Pella by 20.

Prediction: Another great match up in round 1. Spirit Lake is playing on another level. Their big is playing playing well. After a huge losing streak for Xavier they have won 3 in a row against weak teams. Spirit Lake jumps on them early and comes away with the W. Spirit Lake by 9

I have no dog in any of these games. Just curious as to why you say Spirit Lake is poorly coached. Do you know the guy? Do you know that much about the team? I always see people saying this team is well coached or that team is poorly coached. Just seeing what your measuring stick is for coaches who are poor and coaches who are not poor. Again, I don't know anything about Spirit Lakes coach. So maybe that is the general consensus. Just curious to hear.

He is not a bad coach. He is not a great coach either though. He does alright and has gotten the most out of his two stars. Sure he has gotten outcoached by Jim Eekhoff, but so has just about everyone. CBCrusader just has some weird personal vendetta against the guy. He has been ranting against him all season long.

Prediction: Not a cake walk IMO, but Chariton does have a lot of talent and should win.

Prediction: Wahlert is just too big inside. Size is very important at the state tournament.

Prediction: I hear Perry plays at a fast pace, but I don't think they'll be quick enough for Pella, who has blown a lot of good teams out.

Prediction: Xavier played Mount Pleasant in the district final. Not a weak team at all. As long as Burger plays, they should win. It's never a smart choice to pick against Xavier or Wahlert (although personally I'd love to see a public school win).

Prediction: This 3A field is so stacked that this might be the year the private schools don't dominate. I think both of these games would be really really close.

Prediction: Again, no matter who ends up in this game, I think the 3A title game will be extremely close. Just can't pick against Pemsl and Wahlert even though I do think they are a little weaker than the previous two years.

Prediction: I will take Pella, but I think Perry makes a game out of it. The Ivory brothers will handle the Pella pressure better than most.

Prediction: Toughest one to pick in the first round. Spirit Lake has two studs but will need others to step up and contribute, I don't see it happening.

Lucky as in...if Mount Vernon would have won they would have had to play a tough Xavier like last year.
