Assumption 49 Fairfield 21 — This is actually a good tune up for the Assumption offense with the district championship next week. Trojans have a good running game.

CCA 21 VC 20 — Defensive score for CCA. This would kind of be an upset despite the records.

Ft. Madison 28 Keokuk 21 — My favorite game in this district. It's been a while since FM has won the county seat. So many seniors on that team...better get it done this year or it could be a lengthy winning streak for Keokuk.

Washington 42 Mt. Pleasant 17 — Panthers' offense came to play last Friday, they have a chance to get a win next week. Washington looking really good, next week will be closer than I thought.

I agree with you that this needs to be the year that Ft. Madison wins the Lee County seat showdown. I think that FM will win this year and have a great chance to beat Mt. Pleasant this year to finish at 4-5. That would be the best year they have had in a while. I agree with your other choices as well, although that CCA -- VC game is a real tossup and should be a good game. I don't think Fairfield will be able to challenge Assumption much. Looking forward to next week's Assumption -- Washington game, should be a good one.

Jeeze, big is out for blood with a couple of these picks haha. FM 50-14 is a huge stretch in my opinion and I don't know about Washington sitting starters in the second half. It would be a shame if Assumption-Fairfield was the most competitive game of the 3 district showdowns haha.

Not a good week of guessing

I couldn't believe a couple of the scores. Fairfield really hangs in there with Assumption and then the FM-Keokuk bloodbath was a huge surprise!

Wierd night in D5. Surprised Fort Madison got killed. Wonder what happened there. Also DA only winning by 10 over a Fairfield team that has been struggling. Strangeness.

Cooper for FM got hurt at the end of their game last week and had a brace on last night, but honestly, when he ran he seemed to be running just fine. Keokuk's defense gave up some yardage but FM's lack of ability to do anything in the pass game proved to undo their offense. Defensively, FM didn't really stop Keokuk all night. Keokuk probably could have/should have had a couple more scores even.
