Assumption 42 Mt. Pleasant 10 — The Knights are by far the best team in this district, that is beginning to look a little soft outside of them and Washington.

Clear Creek-Amana 12 Keokuk 7 — Fun game in terms of the playoff race. I think it's going to be extremely low scoring. I'm gonna predict CCA wins with a score on defense.

Fairfield 14 Ft. Madison 7 — This is another fun one. I think CCA, Keokuk, MP, Fairfield and FM are all very, very even. The problem with the Hounds, is that they've only completed three passes this season, and I think Fairfield can hold onto a lead against them once they take it.

Solon 28 Washington 7 — Again, I think Washington is the easy #2 team in this district, but I don't think they are up with the Solons of the world right now, especially because the Spartans have played a couple of super tough games already.

EDIT: Just looking back through my predictions, I guess I'm predicting a road sweep this week! Are any of these games homecoming?

Some great match ups this week:


Assumption, Davenport at Mount Pleasant -- Well, this probably isn't the best matchup of the week. Assumption should steam roll through the district till they meet Washington. Mount Pleasant has been a bit of a disappointment this year. Have been in all 4 games, but not generating much offense. Assumption rolls. Assumption 44 Mount Pleasant 10

Clear Creek-Amana at Keokuk -- Should be a close game. Seems like a toss up. Not a lot of offense in this game. Not sure why, but will go with the home team. Keokuk 14 CCA 13

Fairfield at Fort Madison -- Another disappointing team has been Fairfield. They returned quite a bit from the playoff team from last year, but have really struggled this year. Completing, maybe 40% of passes when that was to be a real strength for them this year. Meanwhile, the Bloodhounds have completed a handful of passes all year. Fairfield's last three opponents ran all over them which is all Fort Madison can do. Don't know if Fort Madison can stop Fairfield, but what the heck, going with the home team upset. Fort Madison 21 Fairfield 20

Solon at Washington ( (ND)) -- Great matchup! Solon is, well....Solon. They have lost two close games to highly ranked teams. Washington has played very well last few weeks also. Concern about Washington is that have been getting off to very slow starts, offensively, in each of their games. If they do that this week, they could be down significantly by the time they get going. Should be a very physical game. Solon 21 Washington 14

I agree with almost everything you said fmclonefan
Except the Fairfield game.I think FF should win this they have the talent to step up anytime.

Washington does have a concern on slow starts and that can't happen this week but the defense will be very solid and keeps them in the game I believe
Solon's over all team speed will be a factor too..

Can't argue with you about picking Fairfield instead of Fort Madidon. I may look pretty stupid with that one tonight. Got a soft spot for the Bloodhounds!
