A couple of things surprised me last week. Keokuk over Mt. Pleasant was one and Knoxville beating Fairfield by that much was the other. CCA doesn't look that good either. At this point, it's hard to tell who the third best team is.

Ft. Madison at CCA — CCA 28 FM 7. Good chance for Ft. Maddy to show they can hang with the rest of the teams (outside of Assumption and Washington) in the district, but I still think they are a step behind.

Keokuk at Assumption — Assumption 63 Keokuk 7. Assumption is obviously the best team in D5.

Mt. Pleasant at Chariton (ND) — Chariton 22 Mt. Pleasant 21. MP could definitely taket his one, Chariton is 3-0 but with a softer schedule.

Washington at Fairfield — Washington 42 Fairfield 14. The Trojans are confusing. Washington isn't last year's Washington, but they are still good enough to take second easily.

Ft. Madison @ CCA -- I just don't think FM has the horses to be real successful. They can certainly run the ball, but you've got to give the appearance that you can pass it sometimes. FM still is having issues on defense. CCA is down this year compared to last year, but I'll go with CCA. CCA 28 FM 14

Keokuk @ Assumption -- Ouch. Will be a repeat of last week's game of Assumption over FM. Hopefully Keokuk can come out of it healthy as they have teams left on their schedule that they can beat. DA 50 Keokuk 0

Mt. Pleasant @ Chariton -- This game last year was the beginning of Chariton's slide as MP put up 57 on them. Last week's 14 point win over Saydel was not a real ringing endorsement of Chariton. But, MP lost to Keokuk. Points haven't come easy to MP so far this year. This should be a close game and a pretty high scoring game as well, like last year. Chariton 42 Mt. Pleasant 35

Washington @ Fairfield -- Washington is putting together another nice season. They are running the ball very well. Fairfield got run over by Albia and Knoxville. Sorry Trojans, but is probably happening again this week. Washington 35 Fairfield 17

Just and FYI, the Keokuk-Assumption game moved up to a 5 o'clock start time to try to beat the impending weather.
