Fun game at H-LP (for Wolves fans that is, a bit nerve racking though). H-LP went up 30 early in the 3rd quarter - 44-14.
Ar-We-Va never quit and slowly came back as the Wolves tried working the clock and resting Perkins (QB). It got a little dicey as the Rockets scored and converted the 2 point conversion to make it 44-36 with 2:09 remaining. Cale Hellinga rose to the occasion (literally) to snag the high bouncing onside kick after it caromed off one of his team mates. The Wolves were able to run out the clock, finally kneeling around the Rockets 10 yard line as time expired.
Great team effort by all the Wolves. I specifically saw Sohn blowing up people time and again from his offensive line position. Gunderson was Gunderson as he accounted for nearly 300 all purpose yards. Perkins again had a gritty performance at QB still not 100%, but hopefully gaining ground. He is a gamer for sure. Nitzschke with the pick 6 was also key. Jordan Kyle had some key receptions and defensive plays per usual. I would love to see that kid play with his hair on fire a little more, but he is a physical specimen, and when he wants to be, is a dominant force (he is a very under rated punter IMO too, just doesn't get that much work).
Good Luck to the Wolves in the Dome. Congrats to Ar-We-Va on a great season. I was especially impressed with their QB Danner who could run and really throw it well. Number 1 was a very impressive (Derek Schurke). He isn't big but he can catch and is very fast and elusive.
