#15 Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley @ #4 Webster City
The Lynx should be on upset alert as Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley has been a very tough team all year and have the schedule to prove it. However I think Webster City’s three headed ground game monster of Dinsdale, Kunnuan, and Fuhs look to keep the beat going. I think Webster City wears down Boyden-Hull late in the game.
#16 Carroll @ #7 Sergeant Bluff-Luton
Carroll is as hot as any team and Pauk has been a workhorse for the Tigers and Molinksy has gotten done in the air. Sergeant Bluff has been on a roll all year minus week one and I think being the home team will be the advantage. However an upset here would not surprise me.
Creston @ #1 Pella
Creston got a huge win and revenge against Harlan last Wednesday but the Dutch have looked unstoppable all year and I don’t see why this game will be much difference. The Panthers will need to get some key turnovers but Pella’s overall complete game and athletic ability will reign in this one.
#11 Dallas Center-Grimes @ Ballard
DC-G came out angry in the 1st round and got a decisive win. Ballard snuck by a stingy Algona team to move on. Ballard hosts but I think DC-G’s athletic ability and motivation give them an edge here.
Decorah @ #3 Xavier, Cedar Rapids
Decorah got a nice upset win in the 1st round and Xavier battled off a stingy Waverly-SR team. Xavier looks to bounce back big and I think this may be the game.
Maquoketa @ #10 Assumption, Davenport
Maquoketa has been up and down this year. Assumption started out slow but since have been on a tear and I think the momentum continues in this one.
#5 Norwalk @ #12 Gilbert
I think this game will be the best one on Monday night in 3A. Brandsfield and Norwalk can move the ball through the air as well as anyone in 3A. Gilbert may not be as flashy but just get it done when they need to. I think this one comes down to the last few minutes and Norwalk’s passing game may give them the advantage if that is the case.
Solon @ #2 West Delaware, Manchester
Does Solon finally have it figured out? They have definitely started to play better but West Delaware has as good of an offense as anyone in the state. Ridenour, Roussell, Maloney and company keep on their drive to get to the dome.
