East Sac County vs Central Lyon/ George-Little Rock at at Wall Lake

A game between two underdogs from the 1st round. Both had dominate performances in the first round and look to carry the momentum. I give the edge to Central Lyon/G-LR as they have the experience and have played the tougher schedule.

Estherville Lincoln Central @ #2 Spirit Lake

Estherville got a very nice upset win in the 1st round but Spirit Lake is a monster who continually keeps beating up teams and finding ways to play at the dome.

#13 Hampton-Dumont @ #7 North Fayette Valley

This will be one of the better games on Monday night. Both teams love running the ball but I think North Fayette Valley’s size and physicality will end up wearing down Hampton-Dumont.

#15 Mid-Prairie, Wellman @ #1 Albia

Mid-Prairie got a very nice win on the road against PCM in the first round but Albia has been on a mission all year and Isley and company look to keep rolling.

#11 Mount Vernon @ #9 Central Lee, Donnellson

This may be the best game in 2A on Monday. Mt. Vernon got a huge win on Wednesday and Adams and company will continue to sling it around. Central Lee has had a very nice season and look to take it one more step. Barnett and the ground game I think give a small edge to Central Lee at home.

New Hampton @ #4 South Tama County, Tama

New Hampton is coming off a great win but South Tama has been rolling all season and looks to prove how good they really are. Lowe on the ground and South Tama’s defense keep it rolling.

#5 Waukon @ #8 Aplington-Parkersburg

This should be the premier 2A game as both teams have had great seasons. Waukon is coming off of a pretty easy game but A-P had to go to OT to secure a 7-0 win against Clear Lake. Hesse and company have really put good numbers up through the air and vice versa A-P has pounded the ball on the ground with Ubben and Duster. I think the ball control Falcons have a slight edge at home since the lone loss for Waukon was against a running heavy opponent.

#12 Williamsburg @ #3 Anamosa

Another very good match-up as two teams have had good seasons but only one can move on. Williamsburg looks to continue past post-season success as Anamosa is looking to prove they are worthy of the high ranking. Anamosa’s complete offense I think gives them an edge as well as playing at home.
