I like the state avoiding rematches in 2nd round. With no bracket it kind of gives them a chance to avoid #1 vs #2 in quarters. Let's say Clarinda, Sp Lake and Clear Lake all advance. I see a Sp Lake vs Clarinda game and Clear Lake heading elsewhere to play somebody like New Hampton if they should advance. The old way would be Clear Lake vs Sp Lake regardless.

I would rather see some district rematches than be stuck with Sioux Center vs. Clear Lake in the freaking second round. That's the kind of matchup you expect to see at the Dome, maybe the quarterfinals. Not in the Sweet 16. That's absolutely ridiculous, and it's far from the only matchup this week that's way too good for this round across the state.

Would you rather see Sioux Center play Spirit Lake again, because that is the only other reasonable option for them?

Let's say that Clear Lake and Spirit Lake both win their 2nd round game, does the state pair the #1 and #2 rated teams up in the quarters? Without mapquesting it, I can't think of another team being closer (distance) to Spirit Lake than CL is. What would your thoughts be if the state did this?

If Hampton-Dumont can beat CMB, perhaps the state would pair HD with Spirit Lake in the quarters (looks to be about 145 miles between the two, or about 40 miles further than Clear Lake would be).
