9-point lead by Regina in the 4th is going to be very tough to overcome in a low scoring game.

Poor shooting or do we need a shot clock?
That's Cascade's game, they've done it all season. Boring Lickliter basketball, but Regina beats them at their own game winning 45-32. The Regals advance to face the winner of Western Christian vs. Pella Christian.

Cascade definitely got the game they wanted, but Regina was super patient on offense and waited for good shots. Then the repayed Cascade the favor on the defensive end. Cascade didn't look like they knew how to score points in a hurry when they needed to down the end.

I'm not ready for a shot clock in HS basketball... One of the things you try to accomplish with coaching HS is to value a possession & get kids to be under control. Shot clock could make this difficult.
I would get rid of the jump ball to start the game & just start with coin flip for the 1st possession. Wasted practice time on jump ball that usually only 1 time per game.

Pinehawk, Cascade averaged only 4 points less per game than Regina, playing in the tougher division. Cascade ' s opponents struggle to score, thus slowing the game down. Credit Regina today. They executed a great game plan.

Regina averaged 61 ppg, Cascade 56.3.

If you look at any decent team that Cascade played they struggled to score and slowed the game way down, the scoring average was inflated against the poor teams on their schedule. Cascade also only played 1 3A school I believe? Beckman?
Regina played (and beat) 3A Clear Creek, Benton Community and Solon.

Since the first of the year, Cascade only got to 60 points in 6 of the 18 games they played. Comparatively, Regina scored 60+ in 14 of the 19 games they played.

Regina basically scored 1 point per quarter more than Cascade. And, with all due respect to these teams, the "weaker" teams on Cascade's schedule that you say Cascade inflated their scoring against? Those were Regina's River Valley South conference opponents that Regina played twice each. Cascade played Beckman, Anamosa, and Platteville, WI as their non-conference games. Beckman and Anamosa were both superior to the 3 WAMAC schools Regina played. And, the River Valley North has the top-3 defenses (per BCMoore) in the state in Northeast, Cascade, and Monticello (North Cedar at 8). Incidentally, in 4 games against those top teams, Regina never scored 50 points. The league was just that good.

Obviously, Cascade (as most rural, public, medium sized 2A schools must do) tries to maximize possessions and doesn't turn games into a running match as they can't afford to, but they had the most efficient offense perhaps in all of 2A, and it's a mis-characterization to think they play stall ball. Many of their games have fewer possessions because their opponents can't get good shots and/or try to hold the ball. I guess I'm just not sure of your angst toward Cascade. What they do obviously works and has worked for years.

Again, all credit to Regina today as they were better and executed a great game plan, and hope they bring one home for their league. Thanks.

This. Why a shot clock? It certainly wouldn't improve the game. The NBA is almost unwatchable. And the college game is approaching that. Even with a shot clock in college how many times do you fail to see a college team reach 30 points in a half? Almost every game.

Cascade was a great team, I dont mean to imply otherwise. I guess I'm just a fan of offensive basketball and prefer to see teams run and score instead of watching Cascade's style. That's all. The BC Moore rankings undervalued Regina all season and it turned out they way off. Final 4.
If Cascade had played another team besides Regina, there is a good chance the conference would have had two teams in the final 4.
