Collin Hill is a fantastic player for SH, and Marco Balderas is an underrated PG, but I think WC wins somewhat easily. As a parent from another team in SH's conference, I'd like to see them represent well, I just think WC will be too much for them.

Give SH a lot of credit. This 2A field is deep. They are not a traditional #8 seed.

Hat's off to South Hamilton, they played a fantastic game. Gave Western all they could handle. Not a traditional 8 seed at all. Balderas is a very good little guard and Hill made his presence known on the defensive end. I was expecting more from Hill on offense but Western did a great job limiting his touches. When he did get the ball in the post you could see his skill. Jesse Jansma took the team on his back during the comeback for Western, he played a fantastic game. Western's defense also locked down late in the first and much of the second. Western will need to play better if they want to win it all this year.

SH looked better than both Cascade and Camanche. SH had the perfect storm brewing. They were hot and WC was cold and out of rhythm. WC game plan was to shut down Hill and make someone else beat them and for the first 12 minutes they beat them bad. Then Jansma decided to take the game over. Vis stepped up big on the defense and boards tonight. For WC to win it, they are going to need Harmsen and Kooima to shoot better from 3. What will make WC a tough out is that any of 5 guys can come out and drop 20 on you. No way to know who to key on.

Sitting in the stands it felt like deja vu back to opening round against PC a few years ago!
I think after 12 minutes Western was shooting 12% and SH 70%. Kudos to the guys for not caving. Jansma on O, Vis on D leading the way.

The observation that this isn't the typical Western team is correct. They don't overpower, but just find a way to win. Jansma saved our bacon last night (and several other times this year), it might be someone else on Thursday. Will need big games out of our guard court going forward.

SH did a nice job of clogging the middle, Western poor shooting made it even more effective.
SH's little PG was fearless penetrating.
