Can't speak for all of Iowa, but in NE Iowa I believe that Waukon will return most of their team. They were 2023 district champs and have good tradition over the last 10-12 years, I think they'll be in the mix as a possible quarterfinalist team.

Tier 2- Western Christian, PCM, Waukon, NFV, Kuemper

I think Albia, Mepo and Mid-Prairie battle for D5 title. However, I don’t think any of them would be favorites to be ranked preseason.

Mepo loses a lot in all 3 phases, but there are some core pieces to build around. Need a number of kids to step into prominent roles on and off the field. This senior class didn’t have a lot of superstar power, but they had 10 (11 but 1 injured all season) that all started. If you look at the season and career record books for Mepo their names are all over it in all 3 phases. Tackles, TFL, rushing, receiving, rush TD’s, kicking, punting etc. most being #1 career wide.

Will have at least 2 moving on to play in college, could be more if they wanted to.
