Algona Garrigan must have a pretty well balanced team to only get a punter on this list and be one of the few teams to play West Lyon fairly close.

In all honesty while the DMR list is probably the most prestigious it is also probably the worst one.

Can you give me any insight on why people dislike the DMR lists? I haven't really looked at many All-State lists until a couple years ago and honestly have no clue why people dislike them. Are they biased or something?

The Des Moines Register operates largely on its own with its writers compiling their own lists. It's impossible for them to see kids from all over the state so they don't have a large sampling to go by. If you have a D1 offer, you will be elite all-state. Period. The Iowa Newspaper Association is a committee of writers from multiple papers all over the state voting on each spot with coaches representing each district sitting in on the meetings, giving their own thoughts, while not actually having a vote. It is a much more knowledgeable group of people making the choices.
