Too early to speculate, but the gaping hole @ 149 needs to get plugged before they become National title threats. They are definitely a Top three team, but that really isn't good enough if you're any kind of long time Hawk fan with expectations of National title teams like those of years' past.
Brand's recruiting ratings have been very good recently(last 5 years) but the program has had a variety of high profile kids that flamed out or left the program during that time frame. Whether that is just bad luck, or whether he just misread some kids, losing guys like Baldisaro and Skon have hurt that continuity.
Penn State is the team to beat this season(again), but I expect the Hawks to be closer this season than they were last year. It's hard to predict Iowa having the same bad luck that hit the team at the end of last year with the injuries to McDonough, Evans, and Telford. If all were healthy, the Hawks are serious title threats.
