I thought I'd start a new thread. Although it is week 3 already, we can still make our predictions.

Teams:

Hudson
Jesup
MFL MarMac
Sumner-Fredricksburg
South Winn
Clayton Ridge
Dike-New Hartford

My Predicted Standings:
1. South Winn
2. Sumner-Fredricksburg
3. Clayton Ridge
4. MFL MarMac
5. Dike-New Hartford
6. Hudson
7. Jesup

Offensive MVP: Jordan Rommes (South Winn) / Mitch Tehel (Sumner-Fredricksburg)
Defensive MVP: Anthony Emanuel (South Winn)

Breakout Players:
Alec Quandahl (South Winn) / Tristen Kautman (MFL) / Jacob Hoth (Sumner-Fredricksburg)

Overall, I expect a very competitive district and some close games. I think the best game will be when South Winn travels down to Sumner to face the Cougars of Sumner-Fredricksburg.

No way Dike doesn't make the playoffs, MFL is 2-0 but they are along ways from being impressive wins.

6. Clayton Ridge
7. Jesup

So, are you picking Clayton Ridge 3rd or 6th, and where is Hudson?

My uneducated predictions:

1. South Winn
2. Sumner Fred
3. Dike NH
4. Clayton Ridge
5. Hudson
6. Jesup
7. MFL Mar Mac

Offensive MVP: Jordan Rommes - South Winn
Defensive MVPs: Ryan Moser - Clayton Ridge Rodney Ciesielski - Jesup
Breakouts: Trent Johnson - DNH, Drew Burgin - Clayton Ridge, Logan Schweinefus - South Winn

I politely disagree Blame.

He quarterbacked a couple big wins last year, but 39 for 73 (53.4%) for 673 yards passing and 40 rushes for 252 yards is hardly "breaking out". It's a good beginning, but the break out numbers will be provided this year.

Looks like your Bears will be quite formidable this year. Best of luck the remainder of the season.

we've had a couple of good weeks, Thanks.

Starting to get into the 'meat' of our season now. Face a VERY quick West Burlington team this Friday at the Little Rose Bowl (finally a home game!!) for our throwback jersey night.

Then we get Luke's top 5 North Cedar team in week #4 at Stanwood....AGAIN...we will have played there 4 of the 5 times they have been on our schedule. Horrible.

My Predicted Standings:
1. South Winn
2. Hudson
3. Dike-New Hartford
4. Sumner-Fredericksburg
5. MFL MarMac
6. Jesup
7. Clayton Ridge

O MVP Rommes
D MVP Moser

Overall, I expect a very competitive district from #2 thru #7. South Winn is the class of this district and should make a good showing at the dome.

After 2 weeks, I see the district this way.

1. South Winn
2. Sumner-Fredricksburg
3. Dike-New Hartford
4. Clayton Ridge 5. Hudson
6. MFL
7. Jesup

South Winn is deep and experienced.
SF has room to grow. Good running game.
DNH is a solid program. They could end up 2nd in the District.
CR lost a lot and seems to be struggling early but still a solid program.

O MVP Rommes SW
D MVP Allen SF

I am going to skip the MVP as everyone knows the best player in the district is Romes. I will say everyone here is missing it. The O-Line is what makes things happen. The best O-line player in the district is Tommy Irvin DNH.

Predictions

1. South Winn If healthy can contend for a state championship
2. Dike-New Hartford
3. Clayton Ridge
4. Sumner-Fredericksburg
5. Hudson
6. MFL MarMac
7. Jesup

District is very strong at top.

Clayton Ridge is actually not that bad this year that have a lot of key players like Ryan Moser, Andrew Burgen, Colten Rasteter, Thomas Meyer , an they also have Kody Cummer back who broke the school record for sacks at cascade he had 14 sacks last year. he will not be back until Clayton Ridge homecoming game but he will be healthy and ready to play I heard he did a heck of a job at the upper iowa camp running the ball

Clayton Ridge is the most overrated team in 1A this year. All the have is Moser and I don't think he will even be able to carry them into the playoffs, unless he gets some carries in the backfield.

Yet, YOU predicted them to finish 3rd in the district. That would constitute a playoff spot, correct?

Edit: done posting here, except for prediction game, due to terrible coaching on Clayton Ridge's part. All posts would be negative, so NO posts is the way to go.

I love posting here, but after tonight I think I'll have to give it a rest. I always want to be positive.

Without a doubt Clayton Ridge is the most overrated team in the district, Hudson is a solid team that everyone is overlooking. But the two stand out teams are Sumner-Fredricksburg and South Winn.

South Winn led by: Rommes, Kleve, Hageman, Emanuel, Quandahl, Uribe,Schweinefus, and Lensing; will easily take the district title.

Sumner-Fred led by: Tiehel, Wiedriech, Kohlmeyer, Hoth, Allen, Schwake, and Schultz; will take second in this district.

Without a doubt this district is weaker then it was last year when NFV was in it.

My Standings
1. South Winn (Rommes is a beast and they have great depth)
2. Hudson (Just beat a good Sumner Fred team)
3. Sumner Fred (Tehel can take over the game. Also Kohlmeyer is a brute.)
4. Jesup (Have looked very impressive in first couple games)
5. Dike-New Hartford (Down a little this year but should still be in the mix for the playoffs)
6. Clayton Ridge (Quite overrated and down a lot)
7. MFL Mar-Mac (Cannot believe jackwagons like Jen44 picked them to make the playoffs)

and BOOM goes the dynamite

You can't really respect any of these teams because they don't use the shoe. What is more important to a game of football then the opening kickoff? And how can you have a professional looking kickoff without the shoe?

It's disappointing to say the least.

Heres my predictions

1. South Winn- They overpower everyone in the district and should take the district title with ease.

2. Hudson- They are under the radar and not many people give them credit, last year they gave NFV a run for there money in the playoffs and return a solid team this year.

3. Sumner- Fred- Return some quality starters and I see them playing in November.

4. Jesup- They aremy sleeper team, when they play good they will be tough to beat.

5. Dike- New Hartford- They could very well contend for that 4th spot or higher, time will tell if they are the usual tough DNH team this year.

6. Clayton Ridge- I think they are overrated and it really showed in the game against Jesup, they have some brutes on the team but not sure if 2-4 players can carry an entire team to move them up in the rankings.

7. MFL MarMac- They started 2-0 this year, probably the first time thats happen in school history.. They could give some teams a run for there money and i see them in some close district games this year.
