    I'm sure I could figure out who you are talking about, but from a general standpoint, I'd guess there could be some valid reasons. The other players in 2A obviously changes from year to year so comparing one year to the next is difficult as new players show up or younger ones improve, etc...

    Speaking of top-10 teams, I see that Central Elkader is missing their quarterback (Ehrhardt sp?) and their running back that ran for 250 yards in the first game didn't play in game 2. Starting 2-0 and missing those guys have to believe they will have a pretty good season. Any idea what is up...

    I'd disagree on that. I don't TV was as good as people believe. I'd go with F-M over M-D.

    high90school - I agree with your statement. One question I have is that if that is the case, did DB play any curtain raisers? I know that not many of the teams on their schedule had enough, but I'd have to believe there were some.

    I'm not really sure what side of the fence to sit on this one. First, I do feel that nearly all the negative posts are at least focused on the adults/coaches and not the kids. If you are upset about this, then I hope that's where you focus because the players don't have much control over this...

    I don't think it's a discussion of punishing a program for promoting participation. But, it does energize the fact that it is much more difficult for public schools to get players out vs. private schools.

    Just checked the stats on this game and noticed DB's roster. Do they really have 45 guys out? How do they manage to get guys playing time? Grand View and Meskwaki, their next 2 opponents, don't even have that many out combined.

    Don Bosco was definitely the most impressive. They'll put it on Exira/EHK if they play they have the past 2 games. In saying that, I was very unimpressed with A-C and it was definitely unfortunate that the DB-Springville game wasn't in the Dome.

    Teams that should be in Class A

    In terms of the two class up system, the CVC example shows why that would not work. They are so far under the 115 count that it would be too much of a jump. A multiplier system would keep them under though which is what should probably be happening.

    I would disagree on DB's road being easy. Although they should roll first round, they probably are playing N-K again 2nd round which gave them a challenge this past week and then probably either Janesville (who played them well) or Springville.

    From a serious standpoint, the top 4 throwers in 1A are all within about 5 inches of one another so it should be a pretty good, close shot put event.

    Schools don't need the bad publicity and for bad things like this to happen. However, schools need extracurriculars like sports. Part of the education is being involved in sports, band, etc. and let's face it...some kids only show up because they are involved.
