    Statistically, if you win the regular season match up, you have a better than even chance of winning the playoff rematch. “It’s hard to beat a good team twice” is an excuse favored teams throw out when they fail to win the rematch.

    not a fan of strictly geographical pairs for the semis. On a neutral field, I’m glad they reseed by RPI for the semis, so the two best remaining teams get the opportunity to meet in the finals.

    The number for each team in the playoffs pairing is their seed (in order of their RPI finish) so that district champ with a 20 or 30 RPI rank is the 16th seed.

    Some 8-man games get that way. You’ve got players going both ways, it’s late in the season, so tackling is not very crisp.

    Who is saying that? The IHSAA’s goal for RPI is to round out the field of 16 with the best non-district winners.
