Class A Season Outlook

My 4 Dome teams.
West Hancock beats Woodburry 28-7 This game is outside in colder weather with Woodbury on the road that's not good for them
Tri Center beats ACGC 24-16 This is the best matchup, I think TC has the better defense to get the win
ST Ansger Beats MV 28-6 MV hangs around early but to much size for SA
Madrid Beats Lisbon 34-24 Lisbon's sched extremely weak and Madrid gets the win on the road.
I like it all but flip that Lisbon and Madrid game. I think Lisbon is still better talent wise even outside that schedule

Class 2A Season Outlook

West Lyon, Van Meter, PCM, and Spirit Lake. NFV has a chance of knocking off Spirit Lake, but I don't see it happening. I think Kuemper is probably a top 4 team in 2A, but won't get by WL. I have felt like the whole season has been building towards a West Lyon / PCM title game in 2A and a DNH / Grundy Center title game in 1A. Hopefully none of those teams meet in the semis

Class 1A Season Outlook

Some good games here. SF hasn't given up a point in the playoffs (2 shutouts), but obviously they haven't seen a team like GC.
South Hardin and DNH both have some real physical kids on their teams, but I think DNH has the edge with HOF coach Don Betts.
Underwood doesn't have the athletes it had last year (other than Luett at QB), but they know how to win and have made the Dome a lot in recent years. Don't count them out this Friday.
Wilton and Regina should be the closest game of them all, Regina got the win in the regular season, this one will likely be close again.

GC 33
SF 7

DNH 21
SH 7

Underwood 20
Hinton 13

Regina 15
Wilton 14

Meanwhile in Jacksonville

Also...

The subject who was punched repeatedly while he was standing on the steps grabbed the officer around the waist, tugging on his duty belt (that's where his gun is of course) and attempted to shove the officer back down the steps.

The guy who was prone on the steps had shoved one officer down the steps and bear hugged another one. That officer took him to the ground and punched him several times and that's when he stopped resisting and was taken into custody.

Meanwhile in Jacksonville

From the subject who was punched with the officer holding his cuffs in his hands...

"Remember I told you, I'm either going to kill a cop or not leave."

That came from the officers body cam, not the cellphone video.

We should hold law enforcement officers accountable when they violate the law. However, it is not reasonable to handicap them to a degree which further puts them at risk of injury or death because of societal pearl-clutching.

Most people get to move away from danger and that gives them a lot of options to avoid violence. Law enforcement are REQUIRED to move towards danger and that does in fact limit one's options to avoid violence and it obviously puts them in greater peril.
