Waukee vs Ottumwa

Game 2 was an Ottumwa forfeit? (After winning game 1 10-0). Anyone have any insight into why the forfeit? Thanks!

Actually other way around (game 1 was the forfeit) & I found out why (google is your friend!). Ottumwa pitcher pitched 10 innings in a 0-0 ball game. Finished the 10th and Waukee coach pulled his team and declared a forfeit. No no in the eyes of the state! Tough break, but no one to blame but Ottumwa coach for that one!

I can't believe the number of coaches who don't know the pitching rules. IHSAA baseball rulebook and website clearly states all the scenarios and gives examples. Pella Christian also had to forfeit a game in which they beat Oskaloosa 14-6 a weak ago Friday. They used a pitcher who didn't have the required two days rest after throwing more than 4 innings in a two day period.
