Sounds like he's contracted a blood infection, from which he will not be able to overcome, and isn't expected to make it through the night. He is resting peacefully at this time.
Spoke with one of Pat Mitchell's former assistant coaches yesterday afternoon and he said that Coach is in a Rochester hospital in a coma and the Waterloo paper incorrectly reported that he passed on Saturday.
Yeah, there seemed to be some confusion. I heard from someone on facebook very close to the family that he had passed on Saturday. But this article just came out minutes ago.
Rest in Peace Coach Mitch. You will be missed by everyone whose lives you touched. I will always be grateful for the kindness and acceptance that you offered to my two boys.
