Mark Roering resigns as head coach at Davenport Central

Davenport Central Blue Devils head football coach Mark Roering has resigned from his position to accept a new job as West Moines Dowling Catholic Maroons newest baseball coach succeeding Tim O'Neil. Tim O'Neil served as the head coach for 12 seasons compiling a 420-198 record which includes seven state tournament appearances and two State Championships.

Mark Roering spent seven seasons as head coach of the Davenport Central Blue Devils. Before that he was an assistant coach with the program. During his seven seasons, he compiled a 27-42 record.

This season, the Blue Devils finished fourth in Class 4A District 7 with a record of 4-6 which was good enough to qualify for the playoffs.
